So I’ve been thinking for a while about when would be the appropriate time to announce the baby news to my lovely fans – and it’s official – at 21 weeks (and with a swift little kick to the side this morning), baby boy Boone demanded to be announced! Our little heartbreaker will come into the world in May 2012…just in time for wedding season…HA.

For a while I’ve been debating the big break into the baby arena of the paper goods industry, and seeing as how we’re now expecting our own little one…it’s the perfect time to start. The new line will have over 12 designs, 6 of which are digitally printed photo announcements and invites, while the other six will be available flat or letterpress printed (each available with an adorable pocket for an actual photo keepsake.

LOS ANGELES Wedding Feature

This past August, I was fortunate enough to be included in an LA blog by April Rocha Photography – and I LOVE seeing wedding day photos of the brides I never actually had the pleasure of meeting! This wedding was stunning, with a “vintage meets glamour, meets vineyard” appeal, it is the creme de la creme of weddings. “Calligraphy has always been an interest of mine, since my mom used to dabble in it when I was growing up. She and I both have really neat handwriting to begin with, so calligraphy naturally seemed like the logical next step. I guess you could say that I “got into it” in earnest a couple of years ago, when my freshman year roommate from college got married and asked me to address her wedding invitations. For that, I taught myself Copperplate script (it was a more traditional, classic wedding), but for my Etsy shop I developed a more casual style script based off of my own cursive handwriting.”

Let me hear you say it, “I am a princess, I deserve a couture cake”. Just picture it. Your guests arrive at the reception before you and while they admire the gorgeous atmosphere and sip on their champagne, they see your cake – this gorgeous, ruffled, work of art that is showcased for over an hour or two before you even cut into it! Just make sure the cake isn’t fancier than the wedding dress!!!

Every bride deserves to have the most beautiful paper, and perhaps the most memorable keepsake at your wedding isn’t the favor…but the adorable program that brings delight and a bit of sentiment to your family and friends! This week I have had the pleasure of creating a few gorgeous programs – each unique to its bride. My favorite thus far has been the vintage-styled kraft paper program, made for my first ever Beverly Hills bride! When, combined with twine and post-consumer recycled paper, fits perfectly into our new Green Bride Coordination Package. Take a look at some of the newest designs – hot off the press…

I work with each of my brides back and forth via e-mail, sending digital proofs and tweaking details – until everything is just perfect! DIY Doozie…Cones

This morning I thought I would enlighten you with a DIY Doozie that can be used for almost any occasion, from a baby shower to a bridal shower, from a holiday gift to a piece of decor – cones! For a design template, courtesy of Martha Stewart Weddings, click here. And buy your paper (32-lb. metallic paper in opal) and ribbon on the cheap by e-mailing weddings@kaseyhamel.com with your order!

1. Download clip art (Cone 1 or Cone 2), and print onto metallic paper.
(You’ll get four cones per 8 1/2-by-11-inch sheet)

2. Use a paper trimmer to cut each sheet into quarters.

3. Lay flat, lengthwise, with message facing down. Roll into a cone shape, with “Enjoy” centered on cone, and secure with clear tape or clear adhesive circle labels.

4. Cut iridescent film into 7 1/2-inch squares. Place candies in center, bundle them up, and tie with ribbon.

5. Insert into the cone.

This wedding just screams redneck and fabulous – and we LOVE it!!! Even clients have called “dibs” on the next Miranda Lambert style wedding! The ladies of The Junk Gypsy Co. have sure outdone themselves, especially considering they’re not exactly wedding coordinators! The self-proclaimed “gypsies” travel the wide open road on their “soul vacations” visiting flea markets, collecting vintage items for their shop and pretty much “howl at the moon and dance barefoot through the WILD OATS” (Junk Gypsies)!

Their key to the city…or shall I say country?
They were only a phone call away for friends Miranda and Bev (mom) Lambert!
